King IPTV Not Working? A Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide

King IPTV not working? Fix login errors, black screen, channels not loading, sound issues and more with this practical troubleshooting guide.

When IPTV stops working, the problem is usually one of four things: a login error, a connection issue, a device problem, or a player app glitch. This guide helps you work out which one it is and fix it fast.

Start with the basics

Before diving into specific fixes, run these three checks:

  1. Is your internet working? Open any other app or website on the same device. If nothing loads, the problem is your connection, not IPTV.
  2. Are other channels affected? Try a few different channels and a movie from the on-demand library. If only one channel is down, it is likely a temporary source issue.
  3. Does the problem happen on another device? If you have a second device, test it there. This instantly tells you whether the issue is the device or the service.

Problem 1: Login fails or “invalid credentials”

This is the most common issue and almost always a typo.

  • Copy and paste the server URL, username and password directly from our WhatsApp message. Do not retype them.
  • Watch out for characters that look alike: zero vs the letter O, one vs lowercase L, and trailing spaces.
  • Make sure you chose “Xtream Codes” and not “M3U” or “Portal” in the app.
  • Check that your subscription has not expired. If it has, just order again on the plans page.

If it still fails, message us and we will reset or reissue your login.

Problem 2: Channels not loading (spinning wheel)

  • Close the app completely and reopen it. Force-stop it rather than just backing out.
  • Check for an app update and install it.
  • Refresh the playlist from the app’s settings.
  • Restart your device and your router.
  • Try a different player app. Some apps handle certain streams better than others.

If a single channel will not load but everything else does, that channel’s source is likely being refreshed. Try it again in a few minutes.

Problem 3: Black screen but sound works

A black screen with audio usually means the app cannot decode the video format.

  • Try a different player app. IPTV Smarters, TiviMate and IBO Player handle codecs differently.
  • Lower the stream quality from 4K to FHD or HD.
  • On a Smart TV, switch off “eco” or “energy saving” picture mode.

Problem 4: Sound but no picture, or picture but no sound

  • For no sound, check the app’s volume and your device’s mute settings.
  • For a frozen picture, lower the quality or switch to a different source if the channel has multiple feeds.
  • Restart the app. A surprising number of audio issues are just a stuck player.

Problem 5: Everything is slow or the app keeps crashing

  • Free up storage. A full device causes apps to crash.
  • Update the app and your device firmware.
  • Restart the device.
  • If it is a Smart TV, a Firestick or Android box usually runs IPTV apps more smoothly.

Problem 6: Buffering and freezing

Buffering deserves its own guide because it has many causes. The short version: run a speed test, reboot the router, switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet or 5GHz, and lower the stream quality. See our buffering fix guide for the full step-by-step.

Problem 7: EPG (TV guide) is empty

  • Open the app’s playlist or EPG settings and tap refresh.
  • Make sure the app is up to date.
  • Switch to a different player app if the guide still will not populate.

The guide loads from your login, so if your channels work, the EPG can be refreshed to match.

Problem 8: Connection limit reached

If you see a “connection limit” or the stream stops when you start another device, you have hit your plan’s connection cap. Remember that a 1-connection plan means one stream at a time.

Either stop the other stream, or upgrade to a multi-connection plan. See our Pro guide to pick the right number of connections.

When nothing works

If you have tried the relevant fixes and still have a problem, contact us. The fastest way is WhatsApp at +44 7871 269438, or email support@kingiptvpro.net.

When you message us, include:

  • The device you are using (model if you know it).
  • The player app you are using.
  • Whether it happens on every channel or just one.
  • What the screen shows (error message, spinning wheel, black screen).
  • Your speed test result.

That information lets us diagnose the problem in one go instead of going back and forth.

Quick reference

Symptom Most likely fix
Invalid credentials Copy-paste login, check expiry
Channels not loading Restart app, update, refresh playlist
Black screen with sound Different app or lower quality
No sound Check mute, restart app
App crashes Free storage, update, restart device
Buffering Ethernet, speed test, lower quality
Empty guide Refresh EPG
Connection limit Upgrade connections

Most IPTV problems have a simple cause and a simple fix. Work through the list and you will usually be back watching in a few minutes.

Is it my account, my device, or the source?

This is the question that makes troubleshooting quick. Run this simple flow:

  1. Try a movie from the on-demand library. If movies play but live channels do not, it is a live source issue, not your account.
  2. Try the same channel on a second device. If it works there, the problem is the first device.
  3. Try a completely different channel category. If news works but sports does not, it is that category’s source.
  4. Check your login status. If the app says “expired” or “invalid”, it is an account issue and we can fix it in a message.

Working out which of the three buckets you are in saves a lot of trial and error.

How to check your subscription status

The easiest way is to open your player app and check whether it still shows your channels and on-demand library. If it does, your subscription is active.

If the app reports an expired or invalid account, or if your channels have disappeared entirely, message us and we will check your account and reissue the login if needed. There is no self-service portal to navigate; a human answers.

When to reinstall the app

Reinstalling is a heavier fix, but it clears out corrupted settings that simple restarts do not. Try it when:

  • The app crashes on launch every time.
  • The guide never loads no matter what you try.
  • The app behaves the same broken way on a device where everything else works.

Uninstall the app, restart your device, then install the latest version from the store and log in fresh. Your login stays the same.

Avoiding the problem in the first place

A few habits prevent most issues:

  • Keep your player app updated.
  • Restart your device every few days rather than leaving it on permanently.
  • Clear the app cache when it feels slow.
  • Keep your subscription dates noted so expiry never surprises you mid-match.

A note on peak-time congestion

If channels work perfectly all day but struggle in the evening, that is a sign of local network congestion or ISP throttling rather than an account problem. Our buffering guide and VPN guide explain how to diagnose and fix it.

Frequently asked questions

  • Why did my channels disappear overnight? Usually a source refresh or an expired plan. Restart the app and refresh the playlist first.
  • Can I fix a server-side issue myself? No. If it is on our side, message us and we will sort it.
  • How fast will support respond? On WhatsApp, usually within minutes during UK daytime hours.
  • Do I need to reinstall to change devices? No. Just install the app on the new device and log in with the same details.

Error messages you might see, translated

Player apps are not always clear about what went wrong. Here is what the common ones mean:

  • “Account is expired” — your plan’s period has ended. Order again to continue.
  • “Invalid login” or “Login failed” — a typo in your details, or the wrong login method selected.
  • “Server unreachable” — your internet is down, or the app cannot reach the server. Check your connection first.
  • “Connection limit exceeded” — another device is already streaming on your plan.
  • “Playback error” — usually a codec or source issue. Try another channel or a different app.

Most of these have quick fixes described earlier in this guide. If an error is not listed here, message us with the exact wording and we will tell you what it means.

Testing on mobile data as a diagnostic

Here is a clever diagnostic trick: if your home Wi-Fi is suspect, switch your phone to mobile data, open your player app, and try the same channel.

  • If it plays fine on mobile data, your home internet or Wi-Fi is the problem, not the service.
  • If it also fails on mobile data, the issue is more likely the account or the source.

This single test splits most problems neatly in half and tells you where to focus.

When to simply message us first

There is no shame in skipping straight to support. If you have already restarted the app and your device, and the problem is still there, message us. A quick WhatsApp message at +44 7871 269438 is often faster than twenty minutes of trial and error, and we would rather help you get watching than have you frustrated.
